In the zen mode, you have 90 seconds to hit as many fruits as you can. Unlike the arcade mode, you don’t have any bombs, so you can really go wild with your cutting motions. Another thing that’s different in the zen mode is that you don’t have the special bananas. That’s right, no freeze banana, double points banana or the frenzy banana, just plain old fruits to slice. Wait a minute, if i don’t have any bananas to slice and bombs to avoid, how can Fruit Ninja Zen mode be so difficult?

For starters, you have to make every fruit count, and i mean every single one them. Because you don’t have bonuses at the end, or bananas to boost your score you have to be a real pro in order to score big. Take the arcade mode for instance – you can be a medium player, but still do very well if you encounter a lucky set of frenzy bananas once after the other, or a combo of freeze banana coupled with a frenzy one, or better yet double points with a frenzy. It is the zen mode that truly separates fruit ninja pros vs novices so you gotta give it a try!

Before you start slicing away, here are some tips to better your score. Keep in mind that there are no bombs, so feel free to take the occasional risk, and make longer slicing motions to get those extra fruits in your combo. It is very important take you aim only towards combos and never cut any lone fruits. As time progresses, fruits will start appearing in a faster rate, so be prepare to shift your gear towards the end of the game and never miss a single combo!

Follow these instructions to unlock the hidden blades :

Mr. Sparkle Blade: In the classic mode, slice 3 pineapples in a row.
Old Glory Blade: End up a game with 50 points. This might sound easy, but it really isn’t. Especially in the arcade, because you have to factor in the bonuses you receive at the end, so trial and error a bit my friend.
Butterfly Knife Blade: Get a 40 strawberry combos.
Flame Blade: Perhaps the easiest blade to unlock. Simply make a combo when the time completes in the regular zen mode.
Disco Blade: Just slice 50 bananas and the disco blade is yours to tango!
Ice Blade: An easy one too. Just Slice 20 Freeze Bananas in Arcade Mode.
Shadow Blade: Finish with a score of 175 or higher in the arcade mode, with your device held upside down.
Pixel Love Blade: make 50 sets of combo in the zen mode.
Piano Blade: Unlock the beautiful Piano blade by slicing 100 critical fruits!
Party Time Blade: Play the arcade game, and slice only strawberries (no bananas, or bombs too!)
Bamboo Shoot Blade: For 5 days in a row, play a complete zen game mode – score doesn’t matter!
